Neighborhood improvin'

Over hte last month, the city has been improving the parking strip on our street. They dug out the hardpan shoulder, planted curbs, and filled in with nice fertile composted soil.

Then we had the weather for which Seattle is famous, but rarely actually gets. Lots of happy raindrops.

So today was the day we planted trees and laid down sod. Thre trees went smoothly, but laying the sod was like trying to spread jelly on Jell-oTM. If you go out there right now, you can woggle the sod and it looks like there might be a waterbed underneath.

Actually, it's quicksand, and the sod is there to cover it up so we can trap scores of happy children on Halloween. "Anyone seen Bobby?" / "[Schlurk]".
