sw548 put me on to an interesting article in Salon.com by Brian McWilliams in which the latter chronicles his interactions with some spammers and tries to test whether sending the spammer a "remove me" note would be effective.

Alas, I'm not a Salon subscriber. I don't have to be, actually, they're perfectly willing to let me read the article. I just have to watch a commercial first. Not a splash ad. Not a popunder. A realtime commercial.

It could be that I've just not been paying attention, and that Salon has been doing this for years. Whatever. No one else worthwhile seems to be doing it so, I suppose, Salon.com just isn't worthwhile.

Truly, Salon.com isn't who I invented the Internet for anyway...
